For those who want a softer contrast, more flaring, and an "older" lens look and feel, Cooke miniS4/i lenses are available with uncoated front elements. Uncoated elements help create a different "historic look" - more flare, softer edges, etc. With a max. apperture of T2.8, they are one stop slower than the popular S4/i but share the same "Cooke Look" many cinematographers desire. The Mini S4/i primes are a smaller and lighter lens and offer the same resolution, optical quality, i/technology, and reliability as the S4/i, but at a lower price. The Minis can be mixed seamlessly with S4/i and S5/i primes.
